One day while working at Wherehouse Music in the Santa Rosa Mall, my boss
asked me if I would dress up for Halloween and pass out candy to the
children. I said yes. My Granddaughter, Kayla and I went shopping for a
costume and we found some gold Angel wings. This was the start of
something amazing. She helped me get dressed and we took some pictures
and off I went. I started to pass out the candy to many smiling faces and then
I looked up across the way I saw a group of people pointing to my direction.
I wondered what they were pointing at and looked around me... it was me
they were pointing at. I saw them start walking toward me with the biggest
smiles and I thought that day... mmmm there must be something here. I
mustn't forget this. So I began to look for Real " Angel Wings ". The ones I
wanted were $400.00. I thought I would start saving right away. About 2
years later on Easter Eve I saw the Easter Bunny and realized that I didn't
save a penny for the Wings! I felt so bad and said to God, I'm so sorry that I
didn't get the wings. Well that day I went for my break and walk out of the
mall a different way. As I was walking I was thinking the whole time about
how I didn't get the wings. Well I ended up in front of a brand new store that
I never seen before and in the window was the most beautiful huge Angel
Wings I'd ever seen!!! My mouth dropped as I went into the store, I ask the
salesperson... Those wings??? She said, "A man put them on order about 2
months ago, came in twice but never picked them up!." I said to her, "That's
because they're for me!" She smiled as I told her the story and she told me
that the wings were only $89.00!!! Sold! She held them for me until I got off
of work. Now I had to go home and hope to fit into my wedding dress from
15 years ago!! If I fit I knew what I had to do!! Well I got home, the dress fit
perfect! I called Rev. Edward and told him my story and he invited me to
come to the church to be with the children. This was my first time, it was
beautiful and amazing. Annette and I went to the Hospital and the Rehab
Center after church and she took some pictures.
The sweet faces that were blessed by this "Angel" simply awesome and
blissful for me too.
